Startup champion UP Global selects Diffusion for European launch

Over the past six years Diffusion has developed an enviable reputation for helping start-ups from launch, to promoting investment rounds, to exit and beyond. We are therefore very flattered to be working with UP Global, on their European launch.

UP Global helps entrepreneurs form communities and access the resources they need the most. The organisation originally started as a US government initiative and is backed by high profile entrepreneurs including Steve Case, co-founder of AOL, Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Inc, and Reid Hoffman, Co-Founder of LinkedIn.

Diffusion has been tasked with launching ‘Up Europe’ and raising awareness of the events they runs for would-be entrepreneurs – via a campaign that will begin in London with an event announcing a new partnership with the European Commission. Diffusion will also utilise thought leadership and corporate profiling to raise the profile of Global as an organisation. Later on in the campaign Diffusion will work with UP Global to encourage European cities to get involved in their respective UP Cities. Ultimately UP Global and Diffusion aim to inspire as many budding entrepreneurs to start their own business as possible during the campaign period.

UP Global’s main tool for the promotion of entrepreneurship lies in the support they provide for Startup Weekend events taking place around the globe. These events are platforms from which startup business ideas can be launched and developed into viable business plans with help from volunteer mentors and charity resources. In partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs, UP Global hopes that these networking events and workshops will bring likeminded European entrepreneurs together to nurture the growth of thousands of new businesses.

UP Global began life on the other side of the Atlantic but the movement is now spreading worldwide and, through its work with Diffusion, is now set to show its ambition and vision for Europe.
